Frasier and Lilith’s wedding is looming – not necessarily a
social butterfly, she asks Rebecca to be her maid of honor, while he gets a
gala bachelor party thrown for him by Sam and the boys. Lilith, however, is not
enamored with his ritual, and requests that Frasier assume the engagement is
off unless her calls her to profess his love. The boys convince him that this
indicates her second thoughts, so
Frasier celebrates the stag soiree as if it’s his ticket to freedom. But the
stripper turns out to be one of his patients, and his own pangs of love for his
fiancé cause him to call up her party, which appears to be a hellofa lot more
successful than his is. A drunken Lilith returns with a stripper, and accepts
Frasier’s profession of undying love for her, awkward wording and all.
Bachelor party theme is given a Cheers twist – ostensibly celebrating the joys of singlehood, it
ultimately sides with marriage, locks, tethers and all (although the funniest
scene involves Sam listing all the great things about being single). Lilith, of
course, overanalyzes everything, so even upcoming conjugal bliss is tinged with
trouble. Again, all’s well that ends well, with a final ironic coda in which
even Sam’s carefree lifestyle gets lonely.
Cold open: Carla uses Rebecca’s office for breastfeeding,
and hopes to use one of her breasts as a decoy for the other twin. Weird.
